Can you believe it?
I will presenting at Vision Speak on Sunday, 6/28 at 2:00pm…delivering my talk to insurance brokers; the agents who make a difference in people lives by providing income protection insurance.
I brought my first disability policy when I was 25 and another one when I was 33. If you can believe it, I am 62!
Over the years, we looked at the premiums for those disability policies and asked ourselves “Why are we paying these? Nothing is going to happen to us!” But they weren’t that expensive; so we kept paying.
In March 2008, something stirred me to reach out to our new insurance guy, Brad, and talk about increasing my disability coverage. I even went to Brad’s office and filled out the paperwork for a much higher value disability policy.
As you can imagine, I didn’t sign the policy because I was in the process of completing my taxes. Then, you know what happened!
This has been my dream conference. I wanted to present at it from the beginning….and 5 years later…I am here!
Gordon and Jill spoke in front of 140 advisors and guests at our annual agency event. Hearing Gordon and Jill share their remarkable journey was a highlight of our conference and an eye-opening story for several members of the financial services community here. They eloquently illustrated the triumphs and the challenges in the face of overwhelming adversity and the importance of forethought when it comes to planning for your family’s welfare during and after life’s unexpected events.
Our advisors meet with clients and prospects everyday, making compelling presentations for the need to own disability insurance. For our advisors to hear first hand the incredible impact disability insurance had in the lives of Gordon, Jill, and their family gives new depth to these conversations and a renewed purpose.
The feedback we continue to receive from our advisors has been amazing. I highly encourage anyone to hear and learn from their story.
Thank you, Gordon!

I just got this on my email:
Jill Viggiano spoke at Inspire+Aspire,™ a women’s conference focused on both personal and professional development. You could hear a pin drop as Jill drew us into the quiet, courageous stories of the women in her family who came before her. As she then recounted her own story of sacrifice and commitment, Jill connected the generations and the faith that sustained them. Jill challenged the audience to reflect on our own stories and ask “Do the women who came before you matter today? Will you matter tomorrow?”
Life-altering events can happen to any one of us at any moment, although we often forget this truth. Jill’s story showed us the power of the human spirit and how commitment, courage and faith can see us through. I recommend Jill for any audience seeking perspective, inspiration, and appreciation for the people in our lives.
Can you believe it? I have been calling people to schedule Jill to speak, but it never occurred to me to ask what they thought. Now I know!
SECOND in the writing competition!
It sounds cliche but it was an honor to be nominated =)
We were at the Oregon Christian Writers Conference last week. I was going to write about the experience sooner, but my site revisions took longer than normal.
We began at the conference on Monday night and had dinner with the fellow writers. The following 3 mornings, we had a workshop with Dr. Randy Ingermanson on passive marketing–fascinating!
The take-aways from the conference:
- Writers write because they like to write, not because they think they will get rich and famous.
- Jill is an inspirational speaker who wrote a great book, not a writer who also speaks. It turns out that is an important distinction.
